The Ethnic Studies Certificate Program
provides students with the opportunity to be active in the Ethnic
Studies Student Organization. The primary function of this
organization is to provide students in the program with a
scholarly identity. Instead of defining the Ethnic Studies
Certificate Program as consisting of fragmented groups of
students, the organization focuses on developing, promoting, and
sponsoring activities conducive to the academic maturity of the
students participating in the Ethnic Studies Certificate Program.
A student becomes a member of the student organization at the
time the student officially declares his/her desire to pursue the
Ethnic Studies Certificate.
