Admission Decisions     

Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis.  When an applicant’s file is considered complete, it will be evaluated for an admission decision.  The applicant will be notified by postal mail.  A decision is usually rendered within 6 to 8 weeks after the file is considered complete.  Additional information may be required of some applicants.

Community College Relations and Transfer Student Services

This office serves as a liaison between FAU and Florida's community colleges. The staff coordinates with and assists the Office of Admission in the transfer student process, for all transfer students, helping to ensure a smooth transition for the transfer students into the University. Read More >

Residency

Residency refers to whether you are an in-state Florida resident or an out-of-state resident, and this classification determines your tuition cost. Florida residents pay a lower tuition price per credit hour than do non-Florida residents. Read more >

Where to Live
FAU offers comfortable housing for students, making access to all the University has to offer very convenient.  It is also great way to develop friendships and become involved in university life. All full-time freshmen are required to reside in the University Housing. Exemptions from this policy may be requested for the following reasons:
     • Age 21 or older by the first day of class
     • Residing with parent(s) or legal
        guardians(s) within a 50 mile radius
        of the Boca Raton Campus
     • Married
