Homecoming’s in the Air!

I’ve always considered Homecoming Week one of the best parts of the fall semester, and this year’s celebration is bigger and better than ever. Events are taking place on the Boca, Jupiter and Davie campuses all week long. For the full line-up, go to http://www.fau.edu/homecoming/

Highlights include the Homecoming Concert and the annual Talon Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 30; a comedy show featuring Judah Friedlander of “30 Rock” fame on Thursday, Oct. 31; and the Homecoming Parade and football game vs. Tulane on Saturday, Nov. 2.

Two special events that are a lot of fun for kids are the annual Pumpkin Drop & Physics Carnival, which will be held on the lawns outside the Science & Engineering Building on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and Fall Family Fest, which will be staged in FAU Stadium on Friday, Nov. 1, beginning at 5 p.m. Both include things kids love, like carnival games and face-painting. At the Pumpkin Drop, Sir Isaac Newton himself will be on hand to explain the physics of the big splat to future scientists and engineers. Fall Family Fest, a longtime Homecoming tradition, will feature all sorts of entertainment, including bounce houses, balloon art, circus performers and a cookout sponsored by Business Services and Chartwells.

So come on out and join the fun! Hoot if you love Homecoming!
