FFLIP Alumni

Kyle WebbKyle Webb graduated from FAU in May 2023 and is one of two inaugural interns in the Florida Atlantic University Florida Legislative Internship Program (FFLIP). Webb was involved in FAU Student Government, where he served as a representative and as the chair of the Economic Sustainability Committee for the University. Outside of FAU, he is an Eagle Scout and volunteers his time with the Boy Scouts of America as an assistant Scoutmaster and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion adviser. With experience in emergency management, leadership education, and county government, Webb is passionate about sustainable, equitable solutions to complex problems. He is looking forward to working in national security and foreign affairs.

Webb interned for Representative Kelly Skidmore (District 92) during the Spring 2023 semester, where he learned about the legislative process and state government in a fast-paced and hands-on environment and worked on several projects for Rep. Skidmore’s office throughout the semester. He graduated in May 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in public administration with a minor in political science and disaster management. He is currently exploring employment opportunities in the state of Florida and in New York.

 

 

Joe GuzziJoseph Guzzi is a junior at FAU studying political science. Guzzi served as a legislative intern in the office of Representative Toby Overdorf (District 85) during the Spring 2023 semester. Back on campus, he served as the Supervisor of Elections for the FAU Student Government. In this role, he oversaw election proceedings, enforced elections statutes, and encouraged students and candidates alike to participate in the electoral process. Guzzi also has experience as a paralegal intern for the Broward County Division of the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). At DCF, he was responsible for

redacting confidential information from court documents relating to child abuse and child neglect cases.

During the semester in Tallahassee, Guzzi made friendships and quality connections that will last for many years down the road and learned about the needs of society, and how those needs can be addressed publicly or privately. As he approaches his senior year at FAU, he is exploring many internship options in state and federal government. After graduation, Guzzi looks forward to pursuing a career in the legal field.
