Vice President for Institutional Advancement

The Vice President for Institutional Advancement will be responsible for leading the team of 80 professionals and setting the overall direction and management of community engagement, all fundraising/development, and Alumni Relations activities at Florida Atlantic University. The Vice President will provide leadership in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting donations to the institution.

The Vice President needs to be an entrepreneurial leader and team builder who will be able to develop and articulate a coherent vision for programs while also being able to work well within an established multilevel decision-making organization. The Vice President must have the ability to work effectively in a comprehensive university structure with competing interests among different constituencies. As such, the successful candidate needs to be a creative thinker who can be innovative but pragmatic and possess a high degree of receptivity to new ideas. They must possess sensitivity for issues of communication, consensus-oriented decision-making, and collaboration.

Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs

Reporting directly to the president and as a member of the senior executive leadership team, the provost serves as the university’s chief academic officer and is responsible for providing leadership to achieve excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, student success, and service.

The next provost will hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their field of study and possess a minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience, ideally having served as a provost, dean, vice provost, or in a similar senior academic position, and have national or international prominence as a researcher and scholar. Additionally, the new provost must bring a commitment to the university’s mission, shared governance, and academic freedom; have experience advancing research infrastructure and graduate education at a research-intensive institution; show evidence of prior success in strengthening student success outcomes, enhancing faculty recruitment and development, and securing external funding; align with the Board of Trustees’ values and the university's student success mission; excel in data-informed decision-making; have strong, data-driven financial management experience; embrace a culture of viewpoint diversity and open intellectual exchange on campus; and possess a strong understanding of Florida’s performance-based funding metrics and the state’s preeminent university designation.
