B.S., Biology, University of Central Florida
M.S., Biological Science, FAU (Master thesis work under Dr. Randy Blakely)

Prior Experience
Lab Coordinator, Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute, Dr. Ning Quan

I earned my Master of Science in Biological Science from Florida Atlantic University in 2019 under the mentorship of Dr. Randy Blakely. I continued my commitment to research in the FAU Stiles-Nicholson Brain Institute as Lab Coordinator with Dr. Ning Quan. During my research career, I have developed multiple laboratory techniques related to psychoneuroimmunology and neurobiology. In tandem to my scientific focus and lab management responsibilities, some of the highlights during that time included furthering collaborations among faculty and students.

I have always been dedicated to fostering student engagement and teaching endeavors. However, my scientific communication and teaching skills were honed through my time as a Team Leader for the FAU ASCEND Program (Advancing STEM-Community Engagement through Neuroscience Discovery) where I produced engaging educational content and sparked public interest in brain research.

I’m looking forward to transferring my research experience in biology and neuroscience, and background in the application of lab skills and technique along with scientific communication into the Honors Biological Principles and Honors Biology Diversity lab courses. I’m passionate about conveying concepts and biology topics in creative ways. I’m committed to both advancing science and nurturing future scientists.

I’m a Jupiter native and enjoy outdoors activities such as swimming, cycling, and pickleball. I love to travel and explore new places. Lastly, in my free time I enjoy reading, scrapbooking and playing Trivia.
