FAU Geomatics Engineering Faculty and Students were invited to help a lab class in Palm Beach Central High School

FAU Geomatics Engineering Faculty Dr. Hongbo Su, FAU Geomatics former student Alexandre (Alex) Landry, FAU Geomatics current student Anthony Stafford were invited to visit and help Ms. Abby Elder's Civil Engineering and Architecture class in Palm Beach Central High School on April 5, 2023.

Ms. Abby Elder's Civil Engineering and Architecture class has a total of 38 students. Students practiced differential leveling using an optical level and level rod for each group in this surveying lesson. FAU Geomatics Engineering Faculty and Students provided technical guidance on data collection outside of the building on the campus of the high school. They also talked with the high school students about what a profession is for a geomatics engineer or a surveyor.

The high school students in Ms. Abby Elder's engineering/surveying lab class were very active to explore new technologes. Dr. Su learned that one of the student in the lab class has been admitted to FAU Civil Engineering and he plans to choose a concentration on structrual engineering.

Alexandre (Alex) Landry is a Surveyor in Training in Florida. Both Alexandre and Anthony are currently working at WGI.
