Multimedia Journalism (AES)

The Multimedia Journalism major prepares students to work in the fields of print, broadcast and online journalism and in related careers, including public relations, media relations, marketing, corporate communications, copy writing, publishing and social media management. Students in this track are taught factual reporting and writing skills, along with critical and analytical thinking, and may become content producers or go on to edit and manage print and digital publications, from newsletters to magazines. Additionally, they are introduced to digital tools used in the current media convergence environment, with the objective of graduating journalists bettered equipped to work with various story-telling platforms in a profession that evolves with advances in digital technology. The major also provides a strong communication skill underpinning for those who choose to pursue graduate studies and professional schools.
