Happy Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month!

WEDNESDAY, SEP 16, 2020

This week kicks off Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month, our nation’s annual celebration of Hispanic/Latinx history, culture and achievements. Hispanic Heritage Month spans a 30-day period starting on September 15 and ending on October 15.

FAU is very proud to serve a diverse population of students, including many of Hispanic/Latin heritage. In fact, FAU is designated a Hispanic-Serving Institution by the U.S. Department of Education, and Hispanic students outpace the university’s overall retention and graduation rates.

FAU will host a variety of virtual events in honor of this year’s theme of “Hispanics: Be Proud of Your Past, Embrace the Future.” Events include discussions, cooking and dance classes, and a keynote address. I hope everyone will be able attend at least one of these events and celebrate the many ways that Hispanic and Latin American traditions and culture have enriched our society.
