return-to-campus

Today, FAU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Bret Danilowicz sent the following message to the FAU community. I'm sharing it here for anyone who might not have seen it.

FAU Colleagues and Students,

As we prepare for the start of a fall semester that looks very different than our typical academic experience, I want to take a moment to acknowledge these difficult times and your commitment to the pursuit of higher education.

Our faculty and staff members have worked countless hours preparing for a campus experience that is as safe as feasible. Our students have shown patience and flexibility as we navigate this historic re-opening. We must all come together as an academic community to keep each other healthy.

A few reminders for the start of classes:

- Faculty, staff and students will need to clean their work surface areas upon entering a room using the provided disinfectant wipes.

- Properly worn face coverings are absolutely required in academic buildings and classrooms.

- Maintain six feet of physical distancing whenever possible.

- Regularly wash your hands.

Remote options for academic instruction will be available to all students, with very few exceptions. Students should directly consult their syllabi and instructors to understand how to access their classes remotely. If you have questions or concerns about the re-opening plans, email FAUCOVID19@fau.edu.

This will not be easy. With your resiliency, your support for your fellow Owls, and by following university guidelines, we can keep our students progressing and our academic community thriving.

Sincerely,

Bret Danilowicz
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
