Owls are Boca Raton Bowl Champions!

Last night, FAU Football’s historic season came to a close with a 50-3 win over Akron in the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl. The 47-point margin is the largest in FBS history, and the Owls are now 3-0 in bowl games.

I’d like to extend special congratulations to Quarterback Jason Driskel, who was named Offensive Most Valuable Player of the Boca Raton Bowl, and Linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, who was selected as Defensive MVP of the game.

Conference USA’s MVP and Associated Press All-American third-team selection Devin Singletary also had a banner night. We celebrated his 32nd rushing score of the season, which moved him into third place in FBS history. Additionally, his 33 total touchdowns are now the third-highest in FBS history.

I’d also like to thank the cheer and dance teams, marching band, and many loyal fans who attended our games this season and helped cheer the team to victory. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations again to the football team for a truly remarkable season. We are very proud of you!

Go Owls!
