Congratulations, Fall Class of 2016!

This week, more than 2,600 Owls became alumni during five commencement ceremonies on Thursday and Friday. Graduates range in age from 17 to 78 and represent 47 countries.

Success stories abound in this class. Our accomplished graduates include Ph.D. recipient Ramon Garcia-Areas, who was awarded a patent for inventing a new method of assessing the metastatic potential of breast cancer; former Student Government President Kathryn Edmunds; Business Plan Competition Winner David Parshenkov; and FAU’s 2015 Female Athlete of the Year, swimmer Agnes Bucz; among others.

I also got to be part of a marriage proposal during the 9 a.m. ceremony on Friday. Congratulations and best wishes to Schmidt College of Science graduates Appolos Etienne and Roodyne Pierre!

All five ceremonies were webcast and are available to view and download by clicking here.

Congratulations to the Class of 2016, and Go Owls!
