International Education Month Kicks Off Today

November is International Education Month, and FAU joins colleges and universities across the U.S. to celebrate the value of study abroad and student exchange programs, second language acquisition, and the enrichment that international students and faculty bring to campus life. We welcome about 1,000 international students and scholars to the FAU community every year.

Last year, nearly 300 FAU students took advantage of the opportunity to broaden their horizons by living and studying in a foreign country – for a summer term, over spring break or for a full semester or academic year. Their destinations covered a wide geographical range including Europe, Asia, Central America and South America. Many entered photos they took during their travels into the university’s annual Study Abroad Photo Contest. About 60 of those images will be displayed through February on the first floor of the Wimberly Library.

This week, a variety of activities and information sessions will be held on the Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses. To see the full schedule of events, click here.

Students in all majors are welcome to apply and financial aid is available.
