Celebrating International Education Month at FAU

November is International Education Month, and FAU joins colleges and universities across the U.S. in celebrating the value of study abroad and student exchange programs, second language acquisition and the enrichment that international students and faculty bring to campus life. The observance will peak during the week of November 12, when a variety of activities and information sessions will be held. The full schedule of events is accessible at here.

FAU is an emerging leader in international education, providing students with a wide range of opportunities to broaden their horizons. The Office of International Programs has established partnerships with universities around the world, and each year hundreds of FAU students spend a semester or academic year at institutions in Europe, Asia, Central and South America, the Middle East and Australia. Our newest exchange program is with the University of Haifa in Israel. As our students take advantage of the priceless opportunity to study in some of the world’s most storied cities, we welcome our partner universities’ students to FAU, where they join hundreds of regularly enrolled international students who are pursuing degrees here.

Our partnerships also facilitate the exchange of faculty and visiting scholars, and they allow us to establish joint research initiatives that provide access to new sources of funding. In today’s shrinking world, many granting agencies are recognizing the value of supporting programs that reach across national borders to bring talented researchers together.

We take pride in our international education efforts, our valuable partners around the world and the many international students and scholars in residence at FAU. If you would like to learn more, please go here.

Today, more than ever, higher education is a global endeavor.
