Women’s Soccer Wins First C-USA Championship!

Congratulations to the women’s soccer team on winning their first Conference USA championship! The Owls tied with North Texas for the league’s best regular season record and are officially C-USA Regular Season Co-Champions. This is the program’s first title since 2005, when the team won the Atlantic Sun championship.

The Owls were 9-1-1 in their last 11 games and finished the season with an 8-1-1 record in conference play. Team captain and senior Jennifer Ocampo was named C-USA Goalkeeper of the Week twice this season while Sammy Vitols and Ebba Blomqvist each received recognition once this season as Offensive Player and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.

Off the field, the team is equally impressive, posting a 3.27 cumulative GPA during the past season. They recently earned the 2017-18 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, which they have received five times since 2011.

FAU enters the conference tournament as the No. 2 seed, and will face No. 7 Middle Tennessee on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Good luck, ladies, and Go Owls!
