Welcome, New Owls!

Welcome, New Owls!

Today kicks off the most exciting time of year here at FAU, as our new first-year students move in to their residence halls on the Boca Raton campus. Freshmen in the Harriett L. Wilkes Honors College moved in to the Jupiter campus on Tuesday and upperclassmen on both campuses will join us tomorrow.

It was a great pleasure to welcome many of our new students and their families, and lend a hand during the move-in process. Thank you to all of the faculty and staff who came out to greet our new Owls and help them settle in to their campus homes.

I look forward to formally welcoming our first-year students at Freshman Convocation on Sunday, August 19 at 1 p.m. This memorable ceremony marks the beginning of a student's college career and connects them to each other and to the university. Please click here for more information about Freshman Convocation. Don’t forget to stop by the "Owl Involved" student organization fair in the Breezeway immediately following the ceremony.

I also encourage all students to take part in the "Weeks of Welcome" events scheduled on all campuses. Events include the Welcome Bash Carnival tonight at 6 p.m. on the Housing Lawn, our 14th annual Day of Service on August 25, and College Colors Day, a nation-wide celebration of the kick-off of intercollegiate athletics, on August 31. Click here for more information about Weeks of Welcome events.

Welcome to FAU, Class of 2022!
