Alumnus Tyler Cameron Shines on ‘The Bachelorette’

Former FAU football player Tyler Cameron is making FAU proud as a fan favorite on the current season of the reality TV show “The Bachelorette.” Tyler is one of the final three suitors, with only two episodes remaining this season.

Tyler, who was raised in Jupiter, received a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest. He returned home to pursue an MBA from FAU in 2015, and joined our football team as a redshirt junior. He was named the 2015 Co-Newcomer of the Year, earned a spot on the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and was honored as the football team’s Student-Athlete of the Year in 2016. Our video team spoke with two of Tyler’s former teammates about their time playing together and why the bachelorette, Hannah, should pick him. Click here to view the video.

Reality TV programs tend to have “villains” and “good guys,” and I’m pleased to learn that Tyler’s respect for Hannah, as well as his fellow contestants, earned him a reputation as a good guy. Tyler is a wonderful representation of FAU’s 30,000 students and 170,000 alumni, and I know his fellow Owls will continue to cheer him on.

The final two episodes will air on July 29 and 30 on ABC.
