Dr. Bob Stackman Named Dean of FAU’s Graduate College

FAU recently announced that Robert W. Stackman Jr., Ph.D., was named dean of the Graduate College. Dr. Stackman supports FAU’s Jupiter Life Science Initiative as a professor in the Department of Psychology and associate dean of graduate studies in the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. He previously served as the interim chair of the Psychology Department.

Dr. Stackman joined FAU in 2006. He received the Researcher of the Year award in 2010 and the Distinguished Teacher of the Year award in 2011. In addition to supporting the innovative joint programs between FAU and the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience on our Jupiter campus, he has served as principal investigator on a number of NIH and NSF research grants regarding the physiology of memory processes.

Dr. Stackman has an extensive record of collaborating with and mentoring graduate students. I look forward to his leadership of the Graduate College team as they continue supporting the advancement of graduate students at FAU.
