FAU’s campuses will be a little quieter next week, as our students have the week off for spring break. I’m always interested in hearing about how our students spend their breaks. I know many will travel, some to popular beach destinations for relaxation, while others will choose to incorporate learning and service into their plans. For those students, FAU’s Owl Breaks “alternative spring break” program offers a great opportunity to travel to other cities in Florida or other states to take part in service projects for communities in need. Owl Breaks students immerse themselves in new cultures while learning about social issues affecting those communities. I always enjoy hearing about these students’ adventures when they return to campus. Best wishes to all Owls for a safe and enjoyable spring break!
