FAU/Scripps/Max Planck Partnership Advances to Whole New Level

Today FAU, Scripps Florida and the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience made one of the most exciting announcements in South Florida history. The university is joining forces with these internationally known research giants to launch cooperative programs that will offer unique educational opportunities to students while fueling the growth of the knowledge economy in our region. Details are in the press release.

FAU is the only university in the world that shares a campus with both Scripps and Max Planck. They occupy state-of-the-art research facilities on the Jupiter campus, which is the home of our Life Sciences Initiative. Now the university’s partnership with Scripps and Max Planck is shifting into high gear as we introduce new programs to greatly increase collaborative activities. Among other benefits, undergraduate and graduate students will get the opportunity to work beside some of the world’s leading scientists, and FAU faculty will be able to pursue joint projects with Scripps and Max Planck researchers. This optimal environment will attract the best and brightest students to FAU as it creates a strong infrastructure for the knowledge economy, which is based upon discovery and innovation.

We took a quantum leap into the future today, and much more lies ahead. This is an exciting time for Team FAU! Go Owls!
