Welcome Back, FAU Baseball!

Baseball is back, and the Owls open their 2019 season at home against Cincinnati. The team ended the 2018 season with its most victories since 2004, finished as the runner-up during Conference USA’s postseason championship, and made its 13th NCAA tournament appearance.

Relief pitcher Zach Schneider received a number of preseason accolades, following a successful 2018 season with the Owls. He was named to the Preseason Watch List for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Stopper of the Year Award and the publication’s Preseason Third Team All-American, as well as the Preseason All-Conference USA team. The Owls received a preseason ranking of No. 33 nationally by the NCBWA.

Head Coach John McCormack is back for his 12th season leading the team, and his 29th  season overall as part of the FAU coaching staff. He will be inducted into the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame in March, a very well-deserved honor.

Fan support is crucial to the baseball team’s success, so I hope you will join me at the ballpark this spring to cheer the Owls on to another winning season. Click here to see the team’s schedule and to purchase tickets.
