Welcome to Florida Atlantic University
Florida Atlantic University offers an excellent employee benefits package that includes various types of insurances, retirement plans, and generous annual and sick leave policies.
Each Monday the Department of Human Resources provides a New Employee Orientation that lasts all day. Employees will be given an overview of the policies, procedures and benefits available. Other items addressed are supplemental insurance plans, retirement, compensation, Sexual Harassment and Ethics, attendance and leave, disciplinary actions, training, performance appraisals, employee discounts and other topics of interest.

In the event the day ends early, new employees will be credited with a full eight-hour work day. Temporary employees, who will not participate in the Benefits Orientation during the afternoon session, will be paid for the actual time of their attendance at orientation.
All Monday Orientations will be held on the Boca Raton Campus, and all new employees, regardless of work location, will report to Boca Raton for their first day of work. Unless noted, all programs will be presented in Room 118 of the Human Resources Department in the Williams Administration Building on the Boca Raton campus. These sessions will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m. View the Agenda
Regular faculty members who join the University at the beginning of the Fall Semester are excluded from this policy because Human Resources takes part in the annual Fall Faculty Orientation. Regular faculty members hired at any other time are covered by this policy; however, if the Monday orientation session conflicts with the faculty member's first scheduled class meeting, special arrangements will be made to conduct orientation at another time.
While the Orientation program begins promptly at 8:45 a.m. we encourage attendees to plan on arriving on the Boca Campus no later then 8:30 a.m. Upon arrival at the Boca Raton Campus of Florida Atlantic University the new employee should go to the Information Booth, located on West University Drive, at the Glades Road entrance, to obtain a temporary parking pass. New employees will be able to apply for a permanent parking pass during the Orientation session. The vehicle tag number is required to complete this process.
After the morning session, a lunch break occurs where new employees can checkout the Center Marketplace which offers a wide variety of hot and cold meals, drinks, fresh breads and pastries, and fruit and salads.
All employees will complete their new employee packets during the morning session. Processing of new hires includes but is not limited to completion of the I-9 form, W-4 Form, E-mail Request Form, Direct Deposit enrollment, personal data sheet, and loyalty oath. New employees coming to sign in should bring a voided check for the direct deposit and acceptable identification for the I-9 form. (This information is available on the Human Resources - Processing & Records web page.)
DIRECT DEPOSIT ENROLLMENT
All new employees are required to have their paycheck direct deposited. A payroll representative will be available during the Orientation session to answer any questions you may have.
