New Street Names on the Boca Raton Campus
As part of the construction of FAU Stadium and Innovation Village Apartments and the resulting changes to the layout of the Boca Raton campus, four major roadways on the Boca Raton campus have new names:
1. Formerly Broward Ave ., the street starting at the westernmost signal (nearest I-95) on Glades Road is now West University Drive . It runs noth/south past the Student Union toward the track and field complex.
2. Formerly Florida Atlantic Blvd., the street starting at the easternmost signal (nearest U.S.1) on Glades Road is now East University Drive . It runs north/south past University Village Apartments toward the A.D Henderson University School.
3. Formerly Lee Street , the street that runs east/west past the Recreation and Fitness Center, FAU Stadium and Innovation Village Apartments, is now North University Drive.
4. FAU Blvd . is the name for the street running north from North University Drive (previously Lee Street) east of the FAU Stadium to Spanish River Blvd. Sections of this roadway are currently under construction and will be open on Game Day, October 15, 2011. The existing portion of FAU Blvd. which extends between Palm Beach State College and the FAU Campus Operations Building and the Green Memory and Wellness Center will be known as N.W. 8th Ave.
