Intramural Sports (IMs) are organized sport competitions between FAU students and/or members. Campus Recreation provides student officials and all necessary equipment.
All current sport offerings are listed on imleagues.com/fau. Fall Leagues include: 7-on-7 Flag Football, Indoor Volleyball and Indoor Soccer. Spring Leagues include: 5-on-5 Basketball, Softball and Outdoor Soccer. Special events and tournaments change every semester.
No, all Florida Atlantic University students currently registered for classes are welcome to participate in Intramural Sports.
Faculty/Staff, alumni, etc. must purchase a Campus Recreation membership before participation in Intramural Sports. Your Owl Card or Membership Key Tag must be presented before participation in every Intramural contest or activity.
No, all skill levels are welcome! There are recreational leagues available to teams that just want to have fun or try out a new sport. There are also competitive leagues for those who wish to be competitive. Intramural Sports promote sportsmanship, teamwork and participation so we encourage you to come out and have fun!
All Intramural Sports games are held on the Boca Raton Campus at FAU. Outdoor sports are typically held at the Henderson Fields directly behind the A.D. Henderson University School at the East end of Lee Street. Indoor sports are typically held at the Recreation and Fitness Center at the North end of the Breezeway. Most Intramural Sports games are held Sunday 1 p.m. - 11 p.m. and Monday through Thursday evenings 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.
There is no maximum number of players allowed on a roster the number of championship shirts awarded to the winning team will be limited.
Some teams may elect to hold practices on their own, but there are no scheduled practices for Intramural Sports.
If you forfeit, your team (and all players on the team roster) will be suspended through IMLeagues until the fee is paid. To pay, visit your profile or your team's page to view the forfeit fee notification. Click "Pay Now" and you will be prompted to complete payment via IMLeagues.
The captain of the team does not have to be the person who pays the forfeit fee it can be any team representative.
No. The forfeit deposit only affects teams singing up for league sports. One-day tournaments or individual sports will not require a forfeit deposit.
First, draft players from the free agent list to play on your team. Second, notify the Competitive Sports Office at least 1 business day prior to your first scheduled game, your team will be removed from the schedule with no penalty.
A game will be considered a forfeit if a team fails to have the minimum number of players ready for play at game time. For specific sports minimums, please visit the sport rules section of our website.
After the first forfeit, your team and all players on the team roster are suspended until the fee is paid. If would like to continue playing in the current season or participate in any future intramural events please visit IMLeagues.com to pay the fee.
By defaulting, a team will receive a loss. However, the team’s sportsmanship will not be affected and they will not be charged the forfeit deposit. Notice provided to the Competitive Sports Office 24 hours ahead of game time or by 5:00 p.m. on the Friday prior to the game if on Sunday or Monday is required to be granted a Default.
