James Parkkonen, MD is a board-certified family medicine physician and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine. He serves as an academic hospitalist at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, directs the Transition to Residency course, and teaches in Pathophysiology and Foundations of Medicine. Dr. Parkkonen is the Associate Director of the Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice, representing the College of Medicine. He joined FAU in early 2025.
