Studio Art at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is about exploring your creativity and building a strong foundation in visual arts. You’ll work with a range of media—such as ceramics, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture—while developing your own artistic voice. The program encourages you to experiment, think critically, and engage with contemporary art practices, preparing you for a variety of creative careers or advanced study.
About Studio Art at FAU
At FAU, Studio Art is hands-on and student-centered. You’ll learn from experienced faculty and visiting artists, participate in critiques, and have opportunities for field trips and exhibitions. The program is flexible, letting you focus on your interests while connecting with other disciplines and research initiatives across the university. Graduate students benefit from interdisciplinary collaboration and a culminating thesis exhibition, while undergraduates can tailor their studies to match their goals.

Undergraduate Portfolio Review
All Visual Arts & Art History undergraduate majors are required to complete a portfolio review to graduate with either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree.
Students should meet with their academic advisor to determine when they need to submit their portfolio.
Portfolio reviews are offered during the Fall and Spring semesters, with dates announced within the third week of each semester.
Important: Students must use their FAU Google Drive account when completing the portfolio review process. Be sure to log out of any personal Google accounts before beginning.

Students completing the Studio Art portfolio review should review the submission guidelines and prepare their portfolio before submitting.

Portfolio Review Deadlines
Portfolio reviews take place each Fall and Spring semester. Submission dates and workshop information are announced each semester.
Late submissions are not accepted, including submissions delayed by technical issues. Students are encouraged to begin preparing their materials well in advance of the deadline.
