Internships with Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer

Boca Raton City Mayor Scott Singer is seeking interns to help his re-election campaign. The responsibilities of the campaign include:

-  implementing a social media and communications strategy

-  coordinate citizen outreach efforts by joining our canvassing operation.

-  facilitating an outreach to local businesses and community leaders

-  responding to constituent concerns and liaising with community representatives.

The internship is tailored to the applicants’ skills and interests, and an intern can choose to focus on one or more of the tasks above.

The time involved and length of internship would be flexible, but the commitment is expected to be at least 3 hours per week.  Interns would gain understanding into the issues that residents of Boca Raton care about, along with the inner workings of a political campaign.

The role will bring opportunities to participate in campaign meetings and strategies. Leadership roles, titles, and greater responsibility will be available based on excellent performance and trustworthiness.

Applicants should conduct themselves with seriousness. They will be asked to represent an entire community and help respond to the concerns of residents as if they were their own concerns; with respect and courtesy at all times.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work  outside of an office environment, with the opportunity to learn about local elections, work on a campaign, and engage with citizens and community leaders.

Applicants should submit a résumé or biography and a brief description of their specific interest and availability.  Anyone interested in any social media work should also highlight their experience and provide Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram addresses.
