Dr. Chris Rahlwes is an Assistant Professor in Philosophy and the Bhagwan Sambhavnath Professor of Jain Studies. Dr. Rahlwes received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of Connecticut and his M.A. in philosophy from the University of New Mexico.
Dr. Rahwes specializes in Asian philosophy with thematic foci on truth, negation, and perspectives. His work primarily focuses on philosophy in the Svetambara Jain Agamas, the epistemic development in classical Jainism, and Buddhist philosophy of logic. He has additional interests in Pre-Qin Daoism, ancient Egyptian philosophy, and pre-Columbus Mesoamerican philosophy.
Dr. Rahlwes’s publications appear in journals such as the Journal of Indian Philosophy, the Asian Journal of Philosophy, and the Philosophical Forum. He has also given several presentations at professional conferences on intercultural philosophy.
