Jain Philosophy Conference

The Department of Philosophy in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters presents the “Jain Philosophy Conference” on Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11 in the Social Science Building, room 112 on the Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. As part of the program, there will be a reception with music on Friday, Oct. 10 at 5 p.m. in the CU Building, first floor. All events are free and open to the public, with registration required at 2025 Florida Atlantic University Jain Philosophy Symposium - Florida Atlantic University.

The philosophy of Jainism – one of the world’s oldest living traditions – offers a rich tapestry of complex and fascinating ideas with profound relevance for life and policy today. From abstract questions about how to discern truth in a multi-faceted reality to practical debates about what we should eat and how we value the environment, Jain thought invites us to rethink our assumptions and choices. Join us to explore these issues with leading scholars.
