David Arquette

Florida Atlantic’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters presents “Clowning Around with David Arquette: A Conversation about Celebrity, Family and Life in the Spotlight” on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 5 p.m. in the University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus. The event is free with registration required at fauevents.com.

David Arquette is an American actor and former professional wrestler. He is best known for his role as Dewey Riley in the slasher film franchise  Scream , for which he won a Teen Choice Award and two Blockbuster Entertainment Awards. He recently joined the cast of Peacock's Mrs. Davis, and was seen in the thriller Spree opposite Joe Keery from Stranger Things and Mope. Arquette will be seen in The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry, opposite Kunal Nayyar, Lucy Hale, Christina Hendricks and Scott Foley. He has also produced successful TV series like Cougar Town and Celebrity Name.

Arquette is an investor in XTR, the leading premium nonfiction film and television studio in America, which has produced the critically acclaimed feature documentary on himself called You Cannot Kill David Arquette, which follows Arquette as he attempts a rocky return to the sport that stalled his promising Hollywood career. Dangerously determined to redeem his reputation and reclaim his self-respect, Arquette stopped at nothing to earn his place in professional wrestling. With XTR, David also produced docu-series They Call Me Magic, the real story of Magic "Earvin" Johnson.

Arquette will be in conversation with FAU School of Communication and Multimedia Studies Assistant Professor Marquese McFerguson.
