Jessica HawthorneOriginally from the smallest city in New York State, Jessica Hawthorne is a versatile musician you can find performing regularly in classical, jazz, chamber, and commercial settings on tenor and alto trombone. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the University of Miami, she is the Adjunct Professor of Trombone at Florida Atlantic University.

Recent performances include appearances with the South Florida Symphony Orchestra, the Boca Raton Symphonia, the Ohio Light Opera, and Behind the Music with Joseph Alessi at the New World Symphony. Jessica has also had the pleasure of performing in concert and recital settings with talented musicians such as Adele, Steve Miller, Terence Blanchard, Cyrille Aimee, Barry Manilow, Take 6, Joseph Alessi, Ian Bousfield, David Taylor, and Haim Avitsur.

She has been internationally recognized as a member of the Eastman Trombone Choir. In 2011, the group was the winner of the Emory Remington Trombone Choir Competition from the International Trombone Association, where they performed at the International Trombone Festival in Nashville, TN. At the International Trombone Festival in 2014, they were featured as guest artists. Currently living in Miami, Jessica is pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at the Frost School of Music, where she acts as a Teaching Assistant for the trombone studio and is both a Fellow and Assistant Coordinator for the Henry Mancini Institute. Passionate about education and outreach, she is a trombone and brass instructor for the Coral Gables Community Arts Program (CAP), Miami Music Project, and the Greater Miami Youth Symphony.
