Comparative Studies Alumnus Earns Appointment at the Rockefeller Institute of Government

Dr. Rhianna C. Rogers, Ph.D., RPA (FAU '10) recently earned an appointment to the Rockefeller Institute of Government as the Ernest Boyer Presidential Fellow in the Center for Law and Policy Solutions.

"My position at the Rockefeller Institute of Government actually grew out of my 9-year activist based research project in WNY coined "the Buffalo Project." This project is quite large and involves multiple campuses in the State University of NY (SUNY) system and internationally.

In short, the Buffalo Project is an action-based diversity project that originally started in WNY and has expanded across NY and beyond. (Its name, "The Buffalo Project," is a bit of a misnomer, but since it originated in Buffalo, I felt it important to celebrate its origins.) It is focused on utilizing participant observations of culture as a way to inform the development of culture-based programming in college and community environments."

You can learn more about Dr. Rogers' research and The Buffalo Project on the project website.
