At Florida Atlantic, your research opportunities start on day one. Connect with a research mentor at the Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry (OURI), explore the world-renowned research institutes located on campus, and learn more about our National Merit Scholars Research Track.

A glimpse into our research programs:

Learning Environment and Academic Research Network (LEARN) : A program for undergraduate students to get involved in research, become a part of a supportive learning community, and build the skills for academic and career success.

Summer Undergrad Research Fellowship (SURF) : A ten-week, intensive summer research experience for FAU undergraduate students. Each SURF award grants $4,000 to support the student’s research project.

Nambu Memorial Summer Research Experience (REU) : A ten-week, intensive summer research program for undergraduates to perform cutting-edge research in life science labs at FAU Jupiter. Each REU student is awarded a $6,000 fellowship.

Summer Integrative Neuroscience Experience (SINE) : A paid, ten-week research program for undergraduate students to participate in cutting-edge neuroscience research. Students will work in laboratories at FAU Jupiter, Scripps Research, or the Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience.

NIH U-Rise Program : In this three-year biomedical science program, FAU sophomores join research laboratories, attend summer internships at partner Research Intensive Institutions, and attend workshops and one-on-one mentoring to prepare them for graduate school.
