Broward Buildings and Grounds Department provides students, staff, faculty, and visitors with a clean, attractive, safe, and functional environment, which supports the Florida Atlantic University mission of teaching, research and public service.
Description of Department's Key Services
- Writes bid documents, selects and oversees contracted custodial services
- Performs classroom and special event set ups
- Oversees energy management system operations
- Performs minor maintenance including painting, light bulb replacement, air conditioning adjustments, plumbing repair, furniture repair, etc.
- Performs small moves within and between campuses
- Maintains Broward vehicles
- Writes bid documents and contract for major maintenance including landscape, elevator fire sprinklers, fire alarms, air conditioning, generators, etc.
- Institutes procedures to save energy including recycling
