Wraparound Team

Who Will I Meet?

The events and activities you will be invited to participate in are the work of many FAU departments, student leaders, and student organizations. Your Community will include 75-150 other first-year students based on your college affiliation (i.e. Nursing, Science, Education, etc.), another involvement on campus (i.e. athletes or honors), or a shared life-experience (i.e. first in your family to go to college).

Your Community’s Student Leader is not only an FAU student, but they are also recognized as a leader on campus. They are here to help connect you to other students. They might be an Orientation Leader or an Owls Care Leader.

Orientation Leader (OL): These are the same student leaders who worked with you during your Orientation Day experience! The OLs serve as leaders, supporters, facilitators and coaches to all new students and work with our incoming families, transfer students and University Faculty and Staff to provide everyone with a seamless transition to FAU.

Owls Care Leader (OCL): Owls Care Leader’s work directly with Owls Care Health Promotion and strive to create a culture of caring at FAU and enhance student development by educating students on how to care for themselves, their peers and the university community. The student leaders in the program facilitate workshops on a variety of wellness topics in addition to hosting various events and collaborating with other groups and departments on campus.

Your Virtual Community Leader is a professional staff member from Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. They partner with your student leader to keep you informed about the week’s activities, to host discussions, and to connect you with your campus.

 

How do I reach them?

We’ll introduce you to your Student Leader and Virtual Community Leader’s the week of August 17. Until then please feel free to contact the Virtual Community team at virtualcommunity@fau.edu.
