Workshops will be virtual and/or in-person at the times and dates listed below. Workshops are open to all campuses. Workshops include: Pre-Health and Health Science Academic Program Overview, Pre-Health Freshman FAQs, The Basics for Competitive Applications, Beyond the Basics, Post-Baccalaureate “Career Changer” Program, How to Open a File/Committee Interview Request?, workshops for first generation students, and more.

Student Spotlight: Soar-in-4 Scholar Jorge Torres

Jorge Torres is a pre-medical track student working towards a B.S. in Biological Sciences, and is a member of the Tiny Earth Lab, researching antibiotic producing bacteria found in the soil. He is also a member of the Soar-in-4 program.

Student Spotlight with Kaitlin Waite

Pursing a B.S. in Neuroscience and Behavior and a B.S. in Biological Sciences, Kaitlin Waite works with Howard Hock, Ph.D. in the Undergraduate Vision Laboratory. Kaitlin's current research project for her Psychology Honors Thesis focuses on the perception of motion and speed in the visual system and how cortical brain damage can affect these responses.

Soar-in-4 Student Scholars Welcome Reception


High achieving undergraduate students had the opportunity to meet with College of Science Dean, college leadership, faculty and members of the academic affairs team at the Soar-in-4 Scholars luncheon. The students will work closely with the Academic Affairs team through the program. Students also had the opportunity to connect with fellow Soar-in-4 peers.

Student Profile: Meet Pathology Lab Intern Tamires Matias


Most days you will find Tamires Matias, a B.A. in
Health Science here at FAU, assessing biopsies
of cancers, ulcers, polyps, and even an odd finger or
toe as an intern at the Boca-Delray Pathology Lab. 
The lab is one of the top in the state, with a 24-hour 
turnaround for area hospitals in south Florida, 
and Jacksonville. Read more.


Meet College of Science Academic Advisor: Wendy Gueldner

tmWendy advises Biology, Geoscience, and Health Science students. She has over eight years of experience in advising and over 17 years of experience in higher education, including work in admissions and annual giving. She has a bachelor's degree
in Business Administration and has worked with local non-profits 
such as the Jewish National Fund and the Disabled Veteran's 
LIFE Memorial Foundation. Originally from New York, she has been living in Florida since 2003 and is married with boy/girl twins and a 12-year old yellow lab named Molly.


College of Science Advising Available on the FAU Davie Campus


Beginning in November, the College of Science will position articulation specialist/advisor 
Ana Botero on the Florida Atlantic Davie campus on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. 
In Spring 2020, Ana will be available full-time on the Davie campus.
