Kevin Cresswell, Ph.D., is an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning. He has a Ph.D. in Geosciences from Florida Atlantic University (focus: human-environment interactions, GIS) and a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning also from Florida Atlantic University (specialization: environmental planning). His research interests include environmental hazards, urban health, environmental justice, and urban heat islands.
He has upwards of a decade experience working with geographic information systems and has completed GIS projects for various organizations including Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and First Street. Dr. Cresswell has worked on grants for The Nature Conservancy and National Science Foundation, and he is a former research assistant at FAU’s Center for Urban and Environmental Solutions.
