Human Performance Lab
The Human Performance Laboratory was established in the early 1980s and is currently located in Field House 11A within the Exercise Science and Health Promotion Department. The mission of this laboratory is to expand the knowledge and research experiences of our students in classroom and research settings. The faculty and student research varies from fitness performance to understanding the physiology of the human body during rest and exercise.
Equipment:
A weightlifting platform is constructed of 2 layers of ¼" ply wood and rubber mats. This platform construction mimics competition conditions. The rubber mats receive the loaded barbell and absorb the forces to prevent damage to the facility and equipment.
The Human Performance Laboratory is equipped with:
- Cycle Ergometers
- Cosmed
- Monarks
- Sport Excalibur
- Dartfish analysis programs
- EMG assessments
- Equitest (balance assessment)
