FAU’s Center for Online and Continuing Education (COCE) has been selected as the recipient of the Online Learning Consortium Accelerate 2021 Excellence and Innovation in Online Teaching Award for the development of online science labs in collaboration with faculty from the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science.
The award submission focused on the innovative use of technology and effective online pedagogy in the development of interactive and immersive online science labs.
“We are proud that this technique is being pioneered at FAU and excited about the collaboration between the COCE and instructors within the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science,” said Julie Golden Botti, executive director of FAU’s Online and Continuing Education. “This is just the beginning of an ongoing effort to explore the use of next generation technology in online education.”
The OLC recognizes outstanding work in the field of online, blended and digital education through its annual awards programs.
COCE at FAU recently received the 2020 United States Distance Learning Association Innovation Award for its work in developing an interactive eText that is available to students as a zero-cost, open education resource that saves students textbook costs.
