FAU to Offer Criminal Justice Summer Camp

Florida Atlantic University’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice within the College for Design and Social Inquiry will host a first of its kind criminal justice summer camp for high school students.

Florida Atlantic University’s School of Criminology and Criminal Justice within the College for Design and Social Inquiry will host a first of its kind criminal justice summer camp for high school students. The camp will take place from Sunday, July 10 through Thursday, July 14, and Sunday, July 17 through Thursday, July 21, at FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road.

Students will observe first hand and participate in mock crime scenes and mock criminal trials. In addition, students will be able to see demonstrations of bomb squads, K-9 units and SWAT teams. The camp also will include visits to police marine units, 911 call centers, the local FBI offices, and FAU’s stadium security center.

This camp is being held in partnership with the FAU and Boca Raton police departments, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI Miami office.

Enrollment is limited to 14 students per session on a first come, first serve basis. The application deadline is Monday, June 27.
