Apply to Psychiatry Residency Program

Residents and Professors of the Class of 2016 Psychiatry Residents

Thank you for your interest in our program. We invite you to learn more about the process for candidates below.

The FAU Psychiatry Residency Training Program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). The NRMP number for our program is 1586400C0. All applications for an FAU Psychiatry position must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). We do not accept applications outside of ERAS. Please refer to the ERAS Timeline page for Match Cycle dates.

We will begin reviewing residency applications when released by ERAS and accept applications completed by December 1 for the current match season. We offer four categorical positions for each residency year.

Interviews begin in October and continue through mid-January. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted through the ERAS system. Because of the high volume of applications, please do not call or email for application status updates.

You must have a passing grade/score on the USMLE Step1 or COMLEX1 exam to be considered for intereview. A passing USMLE Step2 or COMLEX2 score is required to be considered for ranking at the end of the Match cycle. We will review your application in its entirety and make a decision based on your complete application.

We accept U.S. allopathic and osteopathic medical graduates, international medical graduates, and J1-sponsored visa candidates. International medical graduates must have completed their medical education contiguously and within three years of applying to FAU Psychiatry. Preference will be given to IMGs with prior U.S. educational and/or work experience.

Additional details can be found in our FREIDA profile.
