Internal Medicine Residency Research

Internal Medicine Residents at research conference

All of our residents are encouraged to have scholarly projects during their residency training. With guidance from faculty, residents write case reports, do quality improvement projects, perform clinical research projects, present posters and oral presentations at regional and national conferences, and write manuscripts. Our residents have great success in publishing and presenting their work in a variety of venues.

Residents have access to REDCap, a database for easy and secure storage of project data. It also allows for survey creation and distribution as well as data collection. The College of Medicine also has a dedicated faculty member to the GME programs to assist with project questions and statistics.
