Wilkes Honors College Moot Court Team Receives Top Honors

The Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College moot court celebrated a successful weekend at the South Atlantic Regional Tournament. Four teams competed in at the tournament held at the University of Tampa on November 10th and 11th. Junior Nic Cathcart received a top 20 speaker award. Cathcart and Taylor Bartlett also advanced to the final 16th round. Students presented appellate arguments before judges on issues of constitutional law. Jeffrey Van Treese, Ph. D, and Mark Tunick, Ph. D., associate dean and professor of political science of the Wilkes Honors College co-coached the team. The tournament organized by the American Collegiate Moot Court Association drew top teams from around the country and Canada.
