Education Abroad

Part of the Center for Global Engagement, FAU Education Abroad supports the University’s international initiatives by coordinating long and short-term study abroad programming, hosting events and activities for students and the community, managing the University’s international agreements and partnerships, and representing FAU within the field of international education.  FAU Education Abroad administers and oversees credit-bearing study abroad programming and provides general support services to students engaging in university-related travel abroad.

Important Update for Summer 2021 Study Abroad

Summer 2021 faculty-led programming has been postponed. Students will be permitted to participate on FAU-affiliated direct enroll and third-party provider programs on a case-by-case basis.

Explore the following options for alternative global engagement opportunities:

*Participate in a virtual exchange experience with a partner university abroad while remaining in the U.S.
*Enroll in an online global learning experience or online international internship through an affiliated third-party provider.
*Start working toward the Peace Corp Prep Certificate Program - you may have completed some requirements already without realizing.

***Important Travel Updates - January 2021***

Per  U.S. Presidential Executive Order, all international travelers are required to  produce proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test  prior  to boarding a flight  bound for the United States. FAU students, faculty, and staff are required to comply with applicable CDC guidelines concerning international travel, including recommended periods of self-quarantine or self-isolation after entry into the United States.


Individual Advising Sessions
Individual advising sessions will be conducted through WebEx, which is a web based videoconferencing service available to all FAU faculty, staff, and students, or it can be conducted via phone. Schedule the advising appointment through Starfish and follow the instructions provided. When scheduling the appointment through Starfish, please provide the best contact number that you can be reached.

Summer 2021 Group Advising Sessions
The Group Advising Sessions will be conducted via Google Hangout for the summer term. Visit our Advising and Appointments page for the Google Hangout links for each date.

2022-2023 Competition & Application will open: Wednesday, March 31, 2021

Required FAU Campus Deadline: Monday, August 30, 2021 by 11:59 pm EST
Final Fulbright National Application Deadline: Tuesday, October 12, 2021 by 5 pm EST
