About

To build an internationally recognized Advanced Scientific Training Laboratory in Jupiter, for students and trainees of all levels, that prepares the next generation of the best and brightest researchers for innovative discovery. Our facility will serve as the only training center of this caliber in the Southeastern United States. Recent reports indicate that the US needs to fill 3.5 million STEM-related jobs by 2025, with more than 2 million jobs going unfilled due to the lack of highly skilled candidates. This includes a local void in trained workers with the rapidly expanding life science business corridor in Palm Beach County and South Florida. To meet this demand nationally and locally, this new facility will capitalize on our existing premier FAU Research Pillars, along with Jupiter campus partners Max Planck Florida Institute for Neuroscience and the Scripps Research Institute, to provide advanced STEM training opportunities. World-renowned scientists from all three institutions will serve as course and workshop instructors to train students, emerging scientists, and industry workers in cutting-edge research technologies and skills of high demand in STEM careers.
