Research team honored for authorship

Drs. Evonne Rezler, Julie Golden-Botti, Abigail Perkins, Ozlem Yavuz-Petrowski and Jennifer Krill were featured by FAU’s Office of Provost and FAU Libraries at the Authors and Artists Recognition Event for their recent publications and presentations. Dr. Yavuz-Petrowski (creator) and Dr. Perkins (editor) received recognition for their 14 Open Educational Resource publications of General Chemistry for Health Sciences Lab Manuals. These free resources increase student access and equity to all students enrolled in General Chemistry Laboratories, providing them with course materials specifically designed by their instructor, for the class they are enrolled in on the first day of class.

The team was also recognized for their recent presentations including “Adapting in a World of Change: Using Immersive Online Content to Bridge Research and Practice in the Design and Delivery of Digital Learning Environments to Enhance Resilience in the Continuity of Instruction” at the Learning Design and Technology Forum and “Increasing Equity, Access and Inclusion: An Immersive Online Content Approach to Authentic Science Laboratory Learning” at the Meaningful Living and Learning in a Digital World Conference. The team continues their pursuit of distributing their how-to-guide of creating and implementing their Immersive Online Content Approach to faculty, administrators, researchers and educators across the nation. The Authors and Artists event celebrated the creative and distinguished work of FAU faculty and staff across the university.
