FAU High Alum Hannah Herbst Wins Startup Competition

Hannah Herbst has taken first-place honors and a $10,000 cash prize for developing an antimicrobial surgical wound dressing based upon the bioactive properties of shark skin. As an FAU High School student Hannah Herbst excelled! A list of her accomplishments include: named “America’s Top Young Scientist” in 2015; served on the youth panel at the 2016 United Nations Multi-Stakeholder STI Forum; invited to the 2016 White House Science Fair; recognized on the 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 list; and won first place in the translational medical science category at the 2019 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Add to the list: 2020 first-place winner in Florida Venture Forum’s Statewide Collegiate Startup Competition.
