Kristin Bird, CFRE joined the College of Education at Florida Atlantic University as the director of development, Kristin graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a degree in tourism and hospitality management. Prior to joining the FAU College of Education, she led the development efforts for the Division of Undergraduate Education at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis in Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to this role, she served as a director of development for Florida International University in Miami, Florida, where she secured private philanthropic support from individuals, corporations, and foundations across several academic disciplines, including the College of Education. She has also served in donor relations and stewardship roles in the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami and the University of Florida Foundation. She has been awarded the Certified Fundraising Executive designation from CFRE International. Kristin has witnessed firsthand the life-expanding difference that philanthropy can make in the lives of those it touches. She is a partner and leader in securing new resources to advance our impact and reach for student learning and success.

Mariana Rivera joined the College of Education at Florida Atlantic University as the development associate, working closely with the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities and the Academy for Community Inclusion, both of which are committed to empowering and equipping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Mariana graduated from FAU in 2021 with degree in Psychology. During her undergraduate studies, Mariana became actively engaged in the nonprofit sector of South Florida, working with organizations such as The Women's Foundation of Florida and Women in Distress of Broward County, where she developed her passion for philanthropy, inclusivity and community advocacy. Upon graduating, she became involved with the Caridad Center of Boynton Beach and supported mental health initiatives for low-income and underserved families of Palm Beach County.

Melissa Joseph joined the College of Education at Florida Atlantic University as the Student Development Assistant. Currently a sophomore in the College of Education, Melissa possesses a deep passion for the field and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of students. In her role as the Student Development Assistant, Melissa is excited to contribute to the advancement of the College of Education's mission and its continued dedication to enriching the lives of students. In high school she spearheaded initiatives that brought positivity and unity to her alma mater, Atlantic Technical High School. Melissa firmly believes in the transformative power of education and is eager to help foster an environment that promotes academic success, personal growth, and overall well-being for students. Through her role, she aims to provide invaluable support, guidance, and resources to help students thrive and reach their full potential.
