A native of Buffalo NY, Piero Bussani and his family have lived in Boca Raton for over 20 years and have established close ties in the Boca Raton area. He moved to Florida earlier in his career when he worked as corporate counsel for Ft Lauderdale based Blockbuster Entertainment.

Bussani draws on 30+ years of experience guiding corporations through a wide range of issues where law and business intersect, with extensive experience as Chief Legal Officer for several multi-billion dollar organizations and two fast growing start-ups.

Bussani currently serves as the EVP and Chief Legal Officer of Hertz Global, where he oversees the company’s global legal affairs, government affairs, risk and insurance, and sustainability / social impact. 

Before joining Hertz, Bussani served as Chief Legal Officer of Homebound, the first tech-powered homebuilding company of its kind. Prior to joining Homebound, Piero spent 18 years as the Chief Legal Officer for Blackstone-owned real estate portfolio companies in nearly every asset class, including housing and hospitality.  Piero started his career at the Washington DC law firm Arent Fox, where he represented national clients. 

As an expert and thought leader, Bussani is currently serving his 15th year on the Board of Trustees for Cubesmart (NYSE: CUBE), one of the top three owners and operators of self-storage properties in the U.S. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Cleveland Clinic of Weston.
