Welcome to the AccessTECH Program Application Portal!
We're excited to have you here and thank you for your interest in joining our program. This portal is designed to guide you step by step through our application process.
How the Application Works
The process is broken down into three simple steps—designed to help us get to know you better while keeping things easy and efficient.
Step 1: Quick Screening
Get started with a few simple yes/no questions to determine your initial eligibility. No personal information is required at this stage.
Step 2: Eligibility Verification
In this step, we collect some important details based on your background. Please read all instructions carefully. Your application will not be accepted unless all your requirements (including documentation) are properly provided.
Here’s what you will need to upload:
-
Proof of Disability: Upload one of the following acceptable documents:
- SSI or SSDI Award Letter
- Education Records (IEP or 504 Plan)
- Medical Documentation: Provide a document that clearly states your condition or diagnosis. It must be no more than 2 pages long, on official letterhead, or signed by a licensed physician or psychologist.
- Highest Degree Diploma: Upload your diploma (at least a high school diploma is required).
-
State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (SVRA) Eligibility Letter
- If you’ve never applied for State Vocational Rehabilitation Agency (SVRA) services, before moving forward, you must apply at your local office first. Once eligible, upload your SVRA eligibility letter.
- If you’re currently enrolled or previously enrolled in SVRA services, simply upload your SVRA eligibility letter.
-
For Veterans: Applicants who are Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces must provide evidence of their status by providing the following two documents:
- DD214 - Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (official US Department of Defense form that summarizes a service member's active duty military service).
-
Proof of Disability - One of the following documents:
- VA disability rating
- VA Memorandum Rating letter
- IDES proposed rating documentation
- Separation or retirement orders (in combination with any medical documentation below)
- DD-2648 (Preseparation Counseling Checklist) (in combination with any medical documentation below)
- Service Treatment Records (STRs) showing diagnosis or treatment
- Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) referral or findings
- Physical Evaluation Board (PEB) referral or findings
- Provider letters or clinical summaries from military, VA, or civilian providers
- Command documentation referencing medical limitations or conditions
Note:
- A final VA disability rating is not required to apply or begin training.
- Active-duty service members and those in transition may demonstrate eligibility through alternative documentation as described above.
- If you receive a final VA rating or updated determination at any point during or after training, please submit it promptly to complete your file.
Participation Pathways
Eligible active-duty applicants may participate through any of the following pathways:- Pre-Separation: Service members within 365 days of an anticipated separation or retirement date may begin training without a SkillBridge approval. Command authorization to participate during duty hours may be required.
- IDES / Memorandum Rating: Service members actively participating in the IDES process or who have received a VA Memorandum Rating are eligible regardless of separation timeline or SkillBridge status.
What’s next?
After submitting your documents, they will be reviewed within 10-15 business days. Only applicants who meet the project requirements will advance to Step 3.
Step 3: Getting to Know You
Here’s the fun part! We’ll ask questions about your interests, abilities, and motivations to understand how we can best support you on your journey.
Following Your Application
Upon completing STEP 3, your application will enter a final review process, which could take up to 10 business days. If you are selected, you’ll receive an invitation to a virtual interview. Final admission decisions will be sent to the selected participants via email.
